On Saturday night, January 6th, the Mattydale Fire Department held its annual installation dinner. Amy Robbins (93 Q Radio) was the emcee for the night. It was a night in which line and executive officers of the fire department were sworn in to serve in 2018. Chief Tim Zacholl was sworn in to begin his 3rd year as Chief. A new Assistant Chief, Charles Smith, was also sworn in as 2nd Assistant Chief. The Chief's Award for 2017 was also given out - a award to a member of the fire department that the Chief deems as having done everything asked of them and more. This year's recipient was Lt. Blake Harden. The Auxiliary and Junior Fire Department officers were also sworn in. The Junior Firefighter of the Year was given to ALL THE JUNIORS! Advisors felt every member of the Junior Fire Department had gone beyond what was expected of each of them. A great meal and music helped make the night a memorable one!
