The Mattydale Fire Department held its annual "Commissioners Inspection" on Saturday, May 11th. Every year in May, the Fire Department presents its Engines, Quint, Heavy rescue and Light rescues to the Commissioners for their inspection. They look at each vehicle, each compartment, the equipment inside the compartments. They do this to make sure the vehicles and equipment are being maintained. If something is found to need repair or work to be done, it is noted during the inspection and taken care. The firefighters make sure all the vehicles are cleaned, waxed, and tools are sharpened, shined up and made to look like new. After the inspection, there is a meal served - a "thank you" for the hard work put in by everyone for the inspection.
