MATTYDALE FIRE DEPARTMENT HOLDS FIRE PREVENTION OPEN HOUSE AND CHICKEN BARBECUE

The Mattydale Fire Department held its annual Fire Prevention Open House and Chicken Barbecue on Saturday, October 10th at the fire house.  A large crowd showed up to see the various exhibits and get information on fire prevention, child safety, on scene rehab, etc..  Some of the organizations that set up at our fire prevention day were: Onondaga County Sheriff's Dept. (Child ID tags), NAVAC Ambulance,  Marine Reserves, Safe and Sound with Amaya (children safety), Onondaga County Volunteer Firemen's Association (Smoke safety trailer).  We also had a "bouncy " house for the kids, fire prevention materials and handouts, a LIVE fire extinguisher demonstration, as well as our NEW "House of Hazards"!!  And on top of that, we SOLD OUT our chicken barbecue!  Thank you, Mattydale and its residents, for making this a very successful event!
