Mattydale Fire Department battles fire at Salt City Billiards
Wed. Feb 8th 2017

At 04:40 hours on Wednesday morning the Mattydale fire department was dispatched for a reported fire at Salt City Billiards, 3707 Brewerton Road.  Chief Tim Zacholl arrived to find smoke showing from the west side, rear, of the building.  Quint 3 arrived, established a water supply, forced entry to a door on side A of the structure and advanced a handline into the structure. Liverpool E-2 advanced a second handline into the structure.  Fire was found in the kitchen area and quickly extinguished.  North Syracuse Truck 1 went to the roof and opened 2 vertical holes for ventilation.  Hydraulic and positive pressure ventilation was performed to remove smoke from the structure.  Fire departments from Mattydale, North Syracuse, Liverpool, Moyers Corners and  Hinsdale responded to the alarm.
