Mattydale Fire Department treats 3 at signal 80 involving school bus / SUV
Wed. Mar 13th 2013

The Mattydale and Hinsdale Fire Departments were activiated at 9:47 am Tuesday morning, March 12th to a MVA with injuries at 1240 Wolf Street.  Asst. Chief George Dwyer was first to arrive and found that a SUV had collided, head on, with a small school bus.  There was heavy damage to the SUV and the driver was still in the vehicle.  There were 2 people on the bus and both were able to self extricate themselves from the vehicle.  Fortunately, there were no students on the bus at the time of the accident.  Mattydale Rescue 1 and Hinsdale TP 6 arrived shortly after and took care of vehicle hazards and assisted NAVAC ambulance with patient packaging.  All 3 patients were transported to hospitals, none with life threatening injuries.  All units were picked up and back in service within 30 minutes.

Heavy damage to the SUV
