After being hit with the largest snow storm in several years, recieving more than 18" of snow in a 24 hour period, the Mattydale Jr Fire Department got to work.
While they are not allowed to respond on the apparatus on actual incidents, it doesn't deter them from recognizing their responsibility to the department and the community.
These young adults approached 1st Assistant Chief Falise and asked if there was any way someone could help drive them around to shovel buried hydrants throughout the district.
Chief Falise was impressed with their dedication and personally drove them around in MFD Engine 1 while they took care of business. This is the the future of the Mattydale Fire Department and it looks promising!!
Year round these young aspiring firefighters prove to us time and time again they deserve our appreciation and respect.
