The Mattydale Fire Department celebrated Halloween Night by having crews out on the streets as well as having the fire department open to trick or treaters!  At 18:00 hours, Chief Gunther, Quint 3, Engine 2 and Rescue 3 set out on the streets of Mattydale and Pitcher Hill to make sure the kids had a SAFE Halloween and to hand out candy to ghosts, monsters and things that go "BOO" in the night.  Firefighters were greated by hundreds of kids out trick or treating!  Engine 1 joined in later in the night.  Back at the firehouse, the Ladies Auxiliary and members of the Junior Fire Dept. had a table set up in the truck bay with candy for those who stopped by.  Crews stayed out on the streets until the number of kids dwindled to only a few.  We were happy to be able to help make sure that this Halloween night was a SAFE one.
