Mattydale Fire Department works a daytime commerical fire.
Mon. Jan 5th 2009

The Mattydale Fire Department was activated on Monday, January 5, 2008 at 10:47am for a building fire at 3504 Brewerton Road.  Along with Mattydale FD the box alarm summoned N. Syracuse Truck 1, Lyncourt T-2, and Moyers Corners R-3 as our RIT.  Added to the alarm was Liverpool E-91, a staffed engine out of Liverpool station 2.

The structure was occupied by a "firefighter-themed" Tavern called "Station 58"

On MFD Car 1's (Chief Wright) arrival he reported heavy smoke showing and reported a "signal 99" (working fire) and assumed command.  MFD Car 3 (Chief Falise) arrived and assumed the "interior operations" position.  MFD Q-3 (Capt Lehmann) went enroute 3 minutes after dispatch and was first due followed closely by Liverpool E-91 and MFD E-1 (P/C Klink).  NSFD Car 3 (Chief Ellis) took the Safety Officer role.

The Quint 3 crew stretched a 2 1/2" handline to the second floor and was able to locate and extinguish the fire in about 15 minutes.  Rounding out the assignment for Mattydale was R-1(Capt Whitehead) and mutual aid companies.

Mattydale Fire Department was back in service at 12:57
