The Mattydale Fire Department started the 2013 push ball/parade season the way it ended the 2012 season - with the winning of the OVERALL AWARD at the Minoa 100th Anniversary Celebration Field Days / OCVFA Convention.  The Minoa Fire Department was the host for the annual OCVFA convention and were also celebrating their 100th anniversary with their field days.  The fire department started Thursday night by talking 2nd and 3rd place in the County 2-1/2" push ball competition.  The next night, the Mattydale Junior Fire Dept. took 1st and 2nd place in the County Junior push ball competition.  On Saturday morning, the fire department, ladies auxiliary and junior fire department all paraded in the OCVFA / Minoa parade.  The men recorded a 2nd place finish in the parade, the ladies also took 2nd place and the junior fire dept. took 1st place!  When the points were tallied, the Mattydale Fire Department had captured the "Terwillger Memorial" overall award!!  A great weekend in Minoa!!
