The Mattydale Fire Department was activated at 10:20am today to respond mutual aid to the East Syracuse Fire District for a commerical structure fire.  First assigned as a move up company to ESFD station 2, shortly after going enroute the IC at the fire upgraded to a 2nd alarm summoning Mattydale E-1 (Capt. Lehmann) to the scene.  Car 1 (Chief Wright) went enroute also and on arrival found the fire had progressed substantially throughout the structure and ESFD Command had already initiated a defensive position on the structure.  E-1 provided RIT duties while elevated streams from ESFD T-1, T-2 and Dewitt's Truck knocked down the fire.  Units were on scene for about 90 minutes before being released by ESFD.  Units operating at the scene included ESFD units, Dewitt, Minoa and Mattydale.  EAVES Ambulance provided several rigs and their rehab unit on scene.
